‘Figuring it Out’ presented the works of Rosie Phillips and Jenna Waldren. The artists first met at Battersea Arts Centre last April, when they both competed in the semi finals of Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2024. 

 

The exhibition title alludes to the fact that both creatives consider themselves figurative artists, who capture fleeting moments from their lived experiences. Whilst the themes behind their work are fairly similar, they possess unique and differing visual languages which sit cohesively together, yet stand out from one another. 

 

The title also makes reference to the position in which the artists find themselves; developing, growing and figuring things out as emerging artists.
